Great suggestion! And yes, a job diary is a great idea. This can be done using traditional methods, an old-fashioned notebook or there are plenty of online tools as well. Thanks for sharing!

I Agree with all of the above.
To help clarify all means of communication i log all my calls etc in my diary then E-Mail it back to the client at the end of every week, takes abit of time but my clients love it and it makes sure you have interpreted there message properly before it ever becomes a problem.

Great post - effective communication is a critical piece of building a strong relationship of trust. Educating your customers / clients on all the things you do is a great way to build your credibility, encourage referrals, and create opportunities for repeat business. Better communication also indicates you really care about the client - and can be a key piece of your customer service platform. As a marketing professional, it's been my observation that companies don't employ all the communication tools and strategies they could - to stay in touch and make their business grow faster, and easier. Especially with today's multiple ways to reach clients, "cross channel" communication can extend your reach VERY cost effectively. Good suggestions in this post!

I work with companies on influencing the perception of their company's brand and how the business operations directly affect it as well. Is there something specific you are looking for?

We met at the Skanska meeting. I would be glad to speak with you but my company doesn't meet your size requirement. You might try Diane Keithly at Keithly Electric. She is the CFO. Or the woman who owns Cochran Electric. I will try to remember some others for you.
